Dynamic Response of Slope Inertia-Based Timoshenko Beam under a Moving Load

In this paper, the dynamic response of a simply supported beam subjected to moving load is reinvestigated. Based on new theory, slope inertia-based Timoshenko (SIBT), governing equations motion are derived. An analytical solution presented by using coupled Fourier and Laplace–Carson integral transformation method. The finite element also developed compared with solution. Then, comparative study three models based SIBT, Euler–Bernoulli Timoshenko, load, presented. results show that for slender beams, responses calculated theories have marginal differences. However, as ratio cross-sectional size length increases, magnification factors mid-span displacement obtained SIBT beams become larger than those beams. Furthermore, until greater 1/3, difference between becomes apparent.
